OSCE TO COVER FRIDALEN POST-ELECTION

Bergen/Vienna (AP): A twelve men strong REACT squad surprised the former Dublin Correspondent at 4AM Thursday last. Due to his electoral ward, Fridalen 22 in the southern parts of Bergen, recently held its general election, and the Correspondent himself had up to several choices and determinations at his personal level, the Organization for Safety and Co-operation in Europe saw it necessary to certify the election’s free and fairness after accusations of election fraud and unusual high T-values. An encouraged Sinn Féin left Finnegan’s soon after.

The REACT (Rapid Expert Assistance and Co-operation Teams) questioned the Correspondent about several serious deviations, mainly on making up his personal choices. Following the OSCE election principles his choices where made during crowding, several rejections of opportunities and invalidation of ideas. The Correspondent unable to answer the team because of the NRK’s coverage of the Olympic Games was then left at his office as he refused to budge on any of the points made by the OSCE, stating that both the former Midland Correspondent, the Institute of Celto-Irish Affairs and “the guy at 326” were informed of the situation following the routines as expressed, described and illustrated in the Constitution. He then retreated to his tea.

The opposition, rather the potential opposition because of the flux in the parliamentary process, had addressed the OSCE in a paper with what they saw as serious fraud. The newly founded Vampyrrøsla, formerly known as the Vampire’s National Party led the meeting to address their concerns. The party leadership told the OSCE at their Party Office in a underworld-styled environment that they felt “slightly upset, and the decision of leaving us out a bit harsh and most unfortunate. We are against this intimidation”. On the question of their policies if the voters turned their way the General Secretary explained in a brief monologue “that’s not of your bloody concern, Daywalker. You see these fangs of mine? Huh, do you? We are going to turn those voters, bring order to the natural hierarchy, and reclaim both night and day, you, minion who dare to enter my Domain of Shaddows, will fear us! (A political advisor whispers to him) But we are fancying Vampire Rights though... reach a hand across community bounderies. And…vampire culture...stuff. We have made large contributions to the benefits of the Correspondent’s cultural life”. The Correspondent himself does not reject this fact.

Vampyrrøsla, was forced to change their name to New Norwegian following a ruling from the Election Commission, however, neither Sinn Féin (Irish) nor Vlaamse Liberalen (Belgian) or Parti bourgeois démocratique (Swiss) have been forced to do anything similar. The change of name did hence force a reprint of the ballot papers; however, the new papers did not reach the ballot booth in time for the Election Day, and effectively ended their participation. However, Vampyrrøsla’s main critique of the Election Day is the fact it was a DAY. No one from their underworld community, neither any of their candidates was able to reach the polling stations as the sun blocked the way. The Correspondent’s Office accepted, even endorsed, the roaring night life, but stated that such things as politics and elections had nothing past midnight to do. “The only election I accept whatsoever after midnight is those referendums who may be formed into a “yes” or a “no”, and following the EU principles a no is a delayed yes”, a emotional Correspondent addressed a by passer at Wesselstuen at 11PM Saturday last. This obstacle is looked at as one of the major oppressive tools used against the local vampire community, as the last years have given a rising identity for this gothic inspired minority, which could lead to a future representation. By now, however, the OSCE acknowledge, legitimating of this awaking tide and their incorporation in the social and political sphere is of utter importance. Any form of undead participation is highly unlikly.

The Election Committee have rejected the international efforts to push a re-election forward, as reports has shown possibilities for votes to the Vampyrrøsla (V) may become significant to push the majority in parliament, put two minor parties without representation and make 23PM to 4AM the best time of the day. Nobody have ever seen the vampires political platform, non of the governing parties nor opposition have any bonds to the party, and nobody have so far seen any reason for the party to exist. In a short comment a V candidate says “we have all the time in the world, we can wait, we are suckers! Uhm, wait…oh, well, you know what I’m trying to tell you”. So far the OSCE have placed a Mission to Fridalen with a 2 year mandate and free coffee/tea.

Moonlight verus True Blood

Da årets første innlegg skal skrives synes jeg det blir riktig å starte, om ikke med ei oppsumering, så i alle fall med en gjenomgang av hva det gikk i i 2009. Temlig ofte gikk det i vampyrer, to store serier har gjort seg gjeldene, Moonlight, med den alltid så bedårende Sophia Myles, og True Blood, som ikke trenger noen videre introduksjon, da den allerede har blitt i overkant allmenn. Uansett, vampyrer er sympatiske vesner de også, så her kommer min særdeles uhøytidlige sammenlikning/bedømming av årets blodtrykk hevere.

Hovedrolle 1: Mick St. John vs Bill Compton

Mick er den sympatiske, Bill den tøffe. Ikke det at Mick er ei pingle, det er han ikke, men sammenlikna med Bill blir han kanskje litt for husvarm? Det som gjør Mick tøff er jo at mannen er privatetterforsker (for det meste i fast arbeid med og uten Beth), motparten Bill er for alt vi vet arbeidsledig, så kanskje det er derfor han anskaffet seg Sookie, så han slipper å sitte på Merlott’s å trøstedrikke True Blood aleine? Så, hvor rart den enn høres ut (ikke for å stigmatisere de avhengig av sosialstønad) trur nesten jeg må gå for sistnevnte. Bill prater morsomt, er mørk og (ufrivillig) vittig. I alle fall, første poeng til Bon Temps: Moonlight – True Blood 0:1

Hovedrolle 2: Beth Turner vs Sookie Stackhouse

Sookie, you know, you suck! Which is a kind of funny, ‘cause..YOU DO REALY SUCK…and your not even a vampire. Up Sophia, Up Beth! Her er det ikke en gang en reel konkurranse. Moonlight – True Blood 1:1

Kompisen: Josef Konstan vs Eric

Hm, skal vi se. Josef, mannen som omvender bestevennen for å redde dama, spiller poker med innholdet til Blodbanken og noen fantastiske venner mot Eric. Eric bleiker håret og driver en ytterst suspekt nattklubb i bushen. Det at han er en tvers igjennom drittsekk som har blitt litt for høy på pæra hjelper heller ikke. Moonlight – True Blood 2:1

Omgivelsene: Los Angeles vs Louisiana
I statsvitenskaplige termer er dette sentrum mot periferien. LA-vampene bor stilig, garderoben er *host* til å strebe etter og det lokale tribunalet virker direkte organisert i forhold til det Eric kaller sammen der ute i nærheta av Shrevesport. Det at Bon Temps er bebodd av individer som i mindre grad har blitt eksponert for det bredere spekter av sosialiseringsprosessene og som aldri har hatt visjoner om å ekspandert sitt vokabular, hjelper ikke stort heller. Dog, det er en rufsete sjarme over det perifere, tilbakelente og løsslupne. Idealistisk sett vinner Bon Temps. Moonlight – True Blood 2:2

Forholdene: Beth & Mick vs Sookie & Bill

Det er noe bedårende over Beth og Mick i de 16 episodene de begge egentlig vil veldig mye, sjøl om trans-mortale forhold i bestefall er kompliserte, hjalp ikke trekantdramaet med Morgan/Coraline mye på. På motsatt side er Sookie og Bill i utgangspunktet like bedårende, men Sookie er nå i stand til å irritere på seg en stein. Eksplisitte detaljer i forholdet, som får Beth og Mick til å virke direkte kjedlige, absolutt, men Sookie ødelegger jo dette med all virringa frem og tilbake. De to første synes du synd på, de to siste… nei. Moonlight – True Blood 3:2

Seriestil: Krim vs sosialrealisme.

Jeg har aldri vært noen stor fan av krim, og er en dertil større tilhenger av sosialrealismen (ingen grunn til å innbile seg at livet er noe annet enn det det er). Dog, sjøl om realismen tar seg veldig bra ut på skjermen er det noe med Moonlightstilen som tiltrekker mer. Moonlight – True Blood 4:2

Vampyrene:

Det er fysisk sett ikke veldig store forskjellen på disse, med unntak ar True Blood-versjonen har kommet ut av kista, evt åpna kista for offentlig innsyn. Den største forskjellen virker å være at i Moonlight er vampyrene betydelig mer avslappet på egne vegne. I True Blood er de i større grad dyriske og følger, la oss kalle det, litt mindre raffinerte koder enn i Los Angeles. Moonlight-vampene vet tydeligvis at de er naturlig kule, og trenger ikke å bevise det for omverdenen. Moonlight – True Blood 5:2

Omgangskretsen:

Her er det reint bord for True Blood. Jessica har rødt hår… og..hvordan kan en ikke like noen som setter i gang ungdomsopprøret samtidig som hun får høggtenner og blir udødlig? Jessica, Jessica, Jessica! Også Hoyt da (potensiell konkurrent? *kremt*). Lafayette, Sam, Tara, og tross alt, gjengen rundt Eric på Fangtasia. Og alle disse merkelige individene som en finner under det som er av rotvelt mellom Mississippis vestre bredd og Texas østrgrense. Moonlight – True Blood 5:3

Stemning:

Moonlight er strengt tatt en ganske koselig. Beth smiler, Mick smiler, Beth gråter og Mick trøster. Så noen tragiske hendelser, og så litt stilig etterforskning. True Blood er usminka, og blodig, og helt ærlig gjør det meg ingenting. Kanskje litt i overkant kristne, men stemningsmessig er det faktisk de støvete gatene og mørke sideveier i Louisiana som frister mest. Med mindre jeg ikke kan ta inn i leiligheta til Mick (om Scaramouche ikke allerede har annektert den). Moonlight – True Blood 5:4
