It was not without certain enthusiasm I put my feet at the pavement at O’Connell St just opposite the GPO. Four seconds, and I was back, for good. I suddenly realized that I hadn’t brought a Dublin Map, still I found the Hostel. I knew where in was. Lower Gardner Street; 200 meters for old Liberty Hall and the James Connolly monument, to the right from Talbot Street. After having my luggage stored at “the Globetrotter” a started my return tour, Exchequer St, HMV in Grafton St, St Stephen’s Green, Leinster House, the Marked between Drury St and South Great George’s St, and of course a dinner at “Nude”. And trust me, it’s a dining place. The long foreseen Cafe Mocha at Starbucks was brought to the mandatory walk along Liffey. This isn’t too bad. Suddenly al the newspapers where back; Irish Times, Irish Independent, An Phoblacht, Evening Herald and the Irish Examiner. Really missed them. Especially Times and An Phoblacht. Things is just as it used to back in my study days: Fianna Fáil is hated, everyone thinks the Taoiseach is a bloody gobbshite, the LUAS is causing heated debate of where, if, and when it should go. And, still, I love the place.
