On the Irish democracy

Alarming numbers have been found, which could imply eighter the Irish population's total lack of interst in politics, even at the very basic level or the Fianna Fáil led government's utter rejection of the electoriat.

If correct, numbers from the IFES Election Guide proves that no citizens of the Republic of Ireland are entitled to vote what so ever. The exact number - 0 - is bringing the Emerald Isle to the bottom of the list of registered voters, even behind the Vatican City, where the 180-member College of Cardinals elects the head of State (Church). The Irish Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, have not yet delivered an comment on the issue. If the estimates to the IFES is correct the next Irish election will bring fewer suprises than a regular parliamentary election in North Korea.
